Introduction:
The in-house Aspirancy Program for the Franciscan Sisters of Christ the Light is for the exclusive purpose of assisting the community in getting to know a young woman who has a sincere interest in entering.  It is also an opportunity for the aspirant to learn more about the Community and Congregation that she is hoping to enter. 

Before applying for this beautiful opportunity, we expect that the young lady would have visited to know that this is where she wants to explore more deeply how God is calling her heart to love.

ASPIRANCY - Basic Requirements / Expectations:

• An aspirant is, theoretically, a woman between the ages of 20-39 who has enough interest in the Community to request a deeper experience. 
• Since this is an effort to discern religious life as a Franciscan Sisters of Christ the Light, the aspirant will be asked to follow some basic rules and expectations, hopefully giving her a good insight into religious life and community life. She will be given the opportunity to grow spiritually and in other human ways, as well.
• If accepted into this program, the aspirant will live in the designated place within the convent designated for this formation and subject to the Aspirant Directress.
• The acceptance into the Aspirancy Program in no way denotes acceptance into the Community.
• The Aspirancy will last at least 6 months.
• Typically an aspirant would apply at least by the middle of August to come in the middle or end of September to begin as an official aspirant.
